Background[]

Following the death of a long-lost uncle, Lydia suddenly discovered she was not from a common family but was in fact the last remaining descendant of a noble (and rich) family from Poldachie-Golgovine that had been exiled to Clint City. So on becoming a countess, Lydia has had to learn all the dos and don’ts of high society. And just as her efforts were beginning to bear fruit, what does she go and do but fall madly in love with Randal, a young man from the ghetto. Oh, the life of a countess is never an easy one!

Strategy[]

Lydia is basically a Wayne Stark with one star less (thus easier to fit into a type 1 or ELO deck), slightly lower damage and less stable ability.

The best way to play her is to defeat Stop Opp. Bonus cards that may threaten the victory of other cards in your deck.

The best way to counter her is to lower her damage.

Advantages & Disadvantages[]

Advantages:

  • Her base is 7, which is good for a 3*.
  • Her power is 4, but becomes 6 with fury, allowing you to 2HKO with some of the other members of Uppers.
  • Her ability protects her bonus, which helps against Nightmare and Piranas.
  • The clan bonus removes 10 attack from your opponent, with a low minimum.

Disadvantages:

  • Her ability only works if you play her first in a round, meaning you only get two chances to use her ability. It also makes her predictable.
  • Besides protecting her bonus from SOB cards, her ability does nothing to help her win.
  • She has competition from the other 3* in Uppers.
  • Her damage is low for a 3*.
  • She also has competition from Wayne Stark, who has the same ability, but doesn't have the Courage effect.

Trivia[]

  • Lydia could be a nod to the animated film, Anastasia, which was about a common teenage girl who discovers she's the last surviving member of the Russian royal family. She also had to learn how to act like a noble and fell for a lower class ruffian like Lydia.
  • It also is a possible nod to the book and film, The Princess Diaries due to the similarities the two characters' situations.
  • The story of the love of Lydia and Randal could also be a reference to Romeo and Juliet.
