In the distant future is a dead and crystallized world. The rebellion against Dregn has been vanquished. The last resistance group, known as the Hive, pirate a vortex time portal and narrowly escape extermination by transplaning to the past... but the ionic charge is too much for their spacecraft that crashes down into Clint City, not far from the old, abandoned Planetarium. Lost in an unfamiliar era and rejected by the humans, the Hive hide out in the city only to uncover the existence of their enemy. So, maybe the prophecy was true after all... Should they take their chance to reform the rebellion... and perhaps change their future?

Release Date[]

The Hive were released on September 30th, 2016.

Bonus[]

Equalizer: -3 Opp. Attack, Min. 5 - The opponent's Attack points are reduced by 3 points or up to a minimum of 5. If the opponent's number of Attack points are lower or equal to 5, then the ability has no effect. This effect is multiplied by the level (number of stars) of the opponent's card it is up against.

Advantages & Disadvantages[]

Advantages:

  • Against 5 Star cards, their bonus become -15 attack adv. min. 5, which is the strongest attack reductor bonus of Urban Rivals.
  • In survivor Type 2, where decks usually have almost 40 stars, their bonus will always be the maximum.
  • They have very high base power, with no card with max base power lower than 5.

Disadvantages:

  • They have issues with the Raptors, Nightmare, and Piranas, as all three clans can nullify their bonus, as well as any card with SOB, Cancel: Attack Mod, and Protection: Attack.
  • Most of their cards' abilities require certain conditions to be met (e.g. Confidence, Equalizer).

Trivia[]

  • Their missions are a nod to the opening speech in the beginning of the Star Trek series.
  • The clan is based in the Borg of the serie Star Trek, the members of both have synthetic body and are link with a hive mind with its queen. But ironically the Hive belong to a resistance movement, while Borg opposes the movement.
  • The Hive's symbol is based on the mask used for their leader, Maana Cercei.
  • The clan's colors are white, purple and yellow. Some of their weapons also use dark green.
  • The Clan might be based off the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Republic from the popular "Star Wars"-Trilogy, whose homes were also conquered by the Galactic Empire and Seperatists and who fought against the Empire and Seperatists to live in a free galaxy.
  • The clan's appearance and how they're discriminated might be based off of the Omnics from Overwatch.
  • The clan's name comes from the words 'beehive' or 'Hive-mind', and their leader taking the form of a queen bee.
  • The voice used for their KO is robotic and says, "We're here to take over."
  • The Hive's finishing animation in their arena has a giant sphere with hexagonal patterns appearing off the ground, which is then rotating and destroying the opponent's HQ, which the sphere is then burying.
  • The Hive's finishing animation in UR World, six green rays appears and destroy the opponent´s card. After of its destruction, appears in the floor a hexagon with patterns of a honeycomb.
  • The Hive's weapon is a synthetic and dark green bee.
  • It is later revealed that the honeycomb-shaped energy they use to run their technology was accidentally created by Pr Priest of the Riots (a Technophiles clan alongside the Hive).
    • This made Pr Priest one of the few characters to have founded a clan unintentionally (as his clan was).
  • They all are descendants of the previous clans or former Vortex members who abandoned their clan.
  • The clan's secondary bio reads as " In the rebellion, we attack the strongest, not the weakest! Our bonus changes depending on the opposing card: the 5* just have to hang on in there! Our power is weak, but our multi-purpose abilities make up for it! So, come join us and fight with your lives and pillz! "
  • As revealed in Star Frog's bio, specific frogs, found in the Jungo habitat, seem to have developed no fear for predators, leaving them living side by side with predators.
    • This might indicate that some Jungo descendants have changed their natural behavior and adapted to the future environmental changes.
  • In Nagataa's bio it was revealed that some descendants of the Fang Pi Clang have continued to practice their ancestors training, keeping and preserving their traditions and fighting style.
  • In Sunwuk0ng's bio it was revealed that the Hive were able to create a technology capable of allowing artificial creatures to grow up as fast as normal beings.
    • This implies that they are now able to recruit both living and non-living beings into the clan, as they do not solely rely on databases and saved backups anymore.
    • This technology is similar to the cloning technology used by the Kaminoans in Star Wars to create the Clone Army for the Republic.
  • In an Instagram story, posted by Acutegames( Developers and publishers of Urban Rivals), they confirmed that the Vortex/Hive timeline, and thus their conflict, was caused and destroyed by Genesis.
    • This could explain both clans being in the Technophiles faction.
  • In both Maana 2097's name as well as her bio, it has been confirmed that the rebellion against the Vortex and the year the Hive escaped from is 2097, the first time any specific date of the Vortex/Hive conflict has been mentioned.
  • Despite being rivals with the Vortex, Alpha Dregn's bio seems to imply that the Hive clan are willing to forgive the person who has committed atrocities against them, this may of been due to Alpha Dregn being only the good side of Dregn Mt.
  • As shown with Buf00n, their theme also evolves around the Grandfather Paradox, a concept from Physics where a time-traveler goes back in time and eventually meets their ancestors, thus causing conflicts in their own timeline.
    • This was further shown as Buf00n was doing contests with his ancestors from the Freaks clans (though not named) and would therefore create a paradox in his original timeline as his ancestors would know he would be their descendant in the future.
    • This is also what the Vortex clan is trying to achieve, by killing the ancestors of the rebellion that was prophesized by Heegrn Cr.
  • Through Dark Vixen's bio, it was hinted that the Hive are one of the only clans who could cure someone of the Oculus parasites by having their minds be transferred into an artificial body, making them a natural enemy of the Oculus.
  • In Dark Lumia's bio it is revealed that if someone synthetic body is badly damaged, the affected person can go into another copy, however the damaged husk left behind can be susceptible to assimilation.
  • Colton's artwork shows that uninhabited Bio-roid casings are similar to full-body catsuits.
