He is based off of Jeff Goldblum, who was turned into a man-fly on his movie, The Fly.
His Collector announcement stated that after being overwhelmed by so many memories, Globumm managed to worm his way into the Riots in order to test Newell's experimental dimensional cabins. He then took his place at the bottom of one of the contraptions and fumbled clumsily to get it started. What he didn't realize, however, was that he was actually inside of a huge microwave oven, and had accidentally cooked himself in it.
He has resurfaced as Bio-Globumm, who is in the GHEIST.
