Background

When his ability to channel solar energy became apparent, Michael reacted in his usual calm and measured way. But it has to be said it's a whole lot more exciting making balls of fire than playing the role of a magician in Caverns and Creatures. And now there's really no holding Michael back!

Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • His base power is 7, which is good for 5*.
  • His base damage is also 7, which helps you to 2HKO with some of the other members of Skeelz.
  • His ability increases his power by 3, making him a 10/7.
  • His power comes in handy in low-pill fights.
  • He gets his ability at level four, so he is useful then.
  • The clan bonus prevents his ability from being canceled, unless he is facing an all-stop.

Disadvantages:

  • His ability only works if he is played first in a round. Because of that, he can be a bit predictable.
  • He is a 5*, so he takes up a lot of room in your deck.
  • He has competition from the other 5* in Skeelz.

Trivia

  • He is the first Space & Time student in over three years to be released. Also, before the release of Xingshu, he was the only student in his class to not be a Rare card, and not be drawn by Fudge.
  • Both his character and power are loosely based off of the Marvel Comics character, Sunspot.
  • He could also be a possible reference to Searle from the movie, Sunshine. In his Level 4 artwork, Michael is looking at his ball of fire with aviators (Searle was viewing at a controlled image of the sun with aviators).
  • The mention of Caverns and Creatures might be a homage to the popular RPG, Dungeons and Dragons.
