Her "powers of divination" were mainly linked to the network of informants she developed while working as a hairdresser at home, listening attentively to gossip at her clients. Her fame was significant and extended beyond the limits of Clint City. She was considered a great priestess and a «voodoo manbo». She was called the Queen of Voodoo. Full of aces thanks to real estate investments, she bought a brothel in which were organized secret ceremonies… Today, the old lady finds the mismanagement of her old business, now a low-end Motel, run by an idiot son… Mrs Spool then decides to take over the organization and asks for information about this Xantiax of which she vaguely heard about...

- She is based off of Norma Bates, the mother of the main character and antagonist from the popular horror film and TV series, Psycho. Her name, Spool, is also one of the names for Norma.
- Just like Norma, she also has a son named, Norman. (This is mentioned in her card's release announcement.)
- Her mission and her knack for Voodoo is a reference to Marie Laveau, who was considered the Voodoo queen of New Orleans.
- She is revealed to be the former owner of the Red One Motel, before Cortez Mt's takeover of the Motel.
- Her departure story goes as: "It's time to hand over... I won't be far away if you need me... Watch over my son, he's not quite all...but he knows the place like the back of his hands... Oh, and one last thing, Nadia...here's the set of keys for the Red One Motel, be sure to take great care of it... "
- Her appearance, especially in her first level artwork, is based off of Madame Medusa, the main antagonist from the Disney-animated film, The Rescuers.
