Do you really want them to steal your appearance and commit crimes in your name? The Oblivion are extremists and they're all over Clint City, so be warned! And if you happen to see one, be sure to contact us!"

Bonus[]

Copy: Opp. Ability: The "Copy: Opp. Ability" ability is replaced by the opponent's Ability. Leader and Genesis abilities cannot be copied.

Trivia[]

  • Their name means being forgotten or forgetting something, fitting with their clan's background as refugees and their state of amnesia and getting back to their original world, which they have seemingly forgotten as well.
    • It also fits their shape-shifting abilities, as the people of Clint City often forget who the Oblivion used to appear as and thus "forgot" the Oblivion alternate life.
  • The clan's name was leaked a couple of months prior to release, when the Characters page was updated to accommodate The Rift factions.
    • They have been teased in Kaskar's bio with their original name "Ouroboros".
    • They are also the first clan to not be introduced via a trailer on YouTube as the previous clans, but rather through a self-made webtoon series.
  • They are the first clan with the Copy: Opp. Ability.
  • The Oblivion's finishing animation in Urban Rivals World, appears a illusion of green lime snake around in the opponent´s card, later the card is vanish while appears Oblivion´s logo.
  • Their clan theme is built up upon the concept of shapeshifting, a supernatural ability to alter one's own appearance which is heavily featured in various media, particularly comic books utilized by dozens of heroes and villains like, like Mystique or the Skrulls from the Marvel Comics as well as Martian Manhunter from the DC Comics.
    • Their motif and the fact that they are in the Supernaturals faction could be a nod to Doppelgangers.
  • The clan thematic inspirations are taken off of Neo Tokyo, Cyberpunk, The Dune Franchise and Tatooine, namely the Tusken Raider's appearance from Star Wars.
  • They are the sixth clan to openly oppose the Government/Oculus, with the Bangers, Junkz, Roots, Huracan, and Raptors clans being the others as they're original dimension was assimilated and destroyed by Genesis, this may explain why Beyond (Genesis' ability) cannot be copied.
  • Though it hasn't been confirmed at this time, it seems that the Oblivion clan consists of surviving members of other clans from their original dimension, making them the second clan to consist of members of other clans the other being the Paradox clan, who consists of members who were expelled from their original clan or were outright rejected by them.
    • They also share a trait in mission names for the first wave character, in their case it was the alleged relations to Tyres.
  • Their symbol is a grey snake, a reference to their rumored name of 'Ouroboros' which is a snake that ate its own tail.
  • Their colors are stone grey and dark grey.
  • In Sidar's bio it is stated that every member has amnesia before realizing their status as a shapeshifter.
  • In Rohese's bio is confirmed that they can not only shape-shift into the citizens of Clint City, but also inanimate objects like chairs and books for example.
  • Many of the clan's members disguise themselves as common people and their respective jobs, marking this the second time any clan's member has had a job etc. outside of their clan's respected field of action/specialty, with the first being some of the Berzerk members. This is due to the clan's amnesia and shapeshifting to blend in with the city and its inhabitants.
    • This was confirmed in Calitira's bio, where they're #1 rule is to blend in/stay anonymous.
  • Their direct rivals are the Oculus, as revealed in a story via Instagram by Saga and their bio labelling them as shapeshifting enemies rather than the Oculus.
  • In Jochar's new bloods announcement it is implied that he's the "brother" of Wilmot, Kassar, and Tyres, though this debated at this time; but due to a combination of Genesis' assimilation of their home dimension and the amnesia the clan as a whole has, this insinuates the clan considers each other family members regardless of blood relations.
  • They're secondary bio reads: "We're shape-shifters, capable of anything and everything. We transform ourselves by copying our opponent's skills. Clint City's greatest abilities are in our power! But if the opponent chooses our identity, then who really are we?"

Advantages & Disadvantages[]

Advantages:[]

  • Their bonus allows them to copy most abilities, even if that ability can only activate under certain conditions (Symmetry and Asymmetry for example).
    • Due to them copying every ability, they can increase their already high stats to even higher stats, surpassing the stats gap of 9, with Tyres being able to have so far the highest stats if copying the right abilities, in his case 24/24.
    • They have advantages against clans with powerful ability. Example: Skeelz, GhosTown and Sakrohm.
  • They have very high stats in both power and damage due to the nature of their bonus.
  • Their bonus forces your opponent to either waste good cards on your weaker cards or leaves them to put in their weaker cards, leaving you at a bigger advantage.

Disadvantages:[]

  • As with most bonuses they are weak to SOB cards who can cancel their bonus.
  • They also have trouble when facing Leader cards or Genesis whose abilities can't be copied (this is to prevent them from being OP).
  • They also have issues with cards without abilities (E.G. Capri and Bunny) as they have no ability to copy from. This can also apply for cards that can only activate their ability at max level.
  • Because of their high stats, they can be targets for power and damage reducers (namely the GhosTown's night bonus).
  • Their bonus also has troubles against Copy and Exchange abilities, as the Oblivion will get no benefits from copying Modification abilities and Exchanges.
  • Their bonus biggest's weakness are self-hurting abilities like Backlash or Corrupt, as your card will copy the hurting ability and can leave you at a bigger disadvantage if your card wins.
  • If a card has Copy: Opp. Ability as both their Bonus and Ability, if that card faces cards which abilities have no use for the card to copy from, your card has to rely on its raw stats, leading to high Pillz fights.
    • This makes it further problematic as was stated on the Urban Rivals site that there will be few Oblivion cards with Pillz Manipulation abilities to not make the Oblivion too overpowered in situations like these.
  • They are also a bad match-up against GHEIST and Roots, as their bonus will cancel the Oblivion's bonus and thus your cards will rely on their stats, while your opponent's cards are still able to use their abilities.
  • They are also bad match-up against cards with unstable abilties or with limits as example minimum.
