The rumors about this back alley just keep on growing: you mustn't go there because it's situated above a major dimensional breach and contains magnetic anomalies. But Quistis ventured there during a demonstration. Having been separated from the main crowd, she hesitated before taking the short-cut known as "The Rift" to try and find her friends again... 3 long days later, she ended up reaching the other side that is just a few yards from sight... Worried about no longer seeing her around the Pussycat HQ, some of her old acolytes noticed her caught up in several fights and have since nicknamed her "Matanza" based on how dangerously feisty she's become.

- Her nickname, Matanza, is Spanish for 'massacre'.
- It could be a reference to La Matanza, a period of time where tensions and aggressions between Texans and Hispanics cultivated in mass confusion and attacks from both sides.
- Her level 3 art shows '4 Ukraine', on her left arm; a reference to Russia's invasion of the country, that occurred just a week and a half before Quistis' release.
